Science week at CFBL

From 13 to 17 March 2017, CFBL will be placing itself at the heart of Science!

Timed to coincide with British Science Week, Collège Français Bilingue de Londres will be running a week of science themed activities for all its secondary pupils.

Workshops, conferences, quizzes, demonstrations and more, will be organised throughout this period.

Teachers, lecturers, researchers and professional experts, all specialists in their fields coming from some of the most prestigious establishments in the country, (UCL, Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College) will be running sessions on a multitude selection of scientific areas such as 3D printing, the uses of robots in biochemistry and in medicine, artificial intelligence, and the application of mathematics in the field of encryption, Intelligent cities, Energies, Cytogenetics and many others.

On Thursday, March 16th, Mr. Marc RAYNAUD, engineer and mathematics teacher, coming over from France especially for this event, and will be demonstrating his hand-crafted reconstruction of a Turing machine, often considered as the first modern computer. This session is open to all school parents.

This rich and varied program has been devised and organised by CFBL’s Department of the Sciences (Physics-Chemistry, Life sciences, Technology, Mathematics and Computing) to make allow pupils see, discover and appreciate science in a new light
