Curriculum

A Bilingual Education

The bilingual curriculum of the primary section (GSM to CM2) fully complies with the French Éducation nationale requirements. These requirements can be found on the Éduscol website.

Each class is taught:

  • 50% of the time by a qualified teacher who is a native French speaker
  • 50% of the time by a qualified teacher who is a native English speaker.

Consequently, the classes receive 13 hours a week of lessons taught in French and 13 hours of lessons taught in English. The two teachers work in close cooperation to define the contents of the lessons.

The bilingual aspect of the teaching programme is supplemented by a strong bi-cultural dimension.

This is achieved by English teaching methods which enhance the French educational programme.

IT Education

IT facilities are central to the services provided (virtual learning environment (VLE), access to administrative documents, messaging to teachers, access to ICT-based sources more generally speaking). They are also fully integrated in the teaching programmes in the following ways:

  • Pupils are taught comprehensive IT skills and how to navigate on the Internet,
  • Documentation software is available at the school library,
  • Interactive whiteboards are available in each classroom.
