The clear message is a very simple technique for resolving conflicts and managing disruptive behaviour that can easily be used in the classroom from Year 3 onwards.
The technique involves verbalising how we feel and, above all, what bothers us. By putting things into words, pupils are guided towards a self-analysis of their feelings and emotions when faced with a situation they don't like. They then go to the classmate whose attitude is bothering them to share their feelings and ask him or her to put things right.
The class reps in the primary classes have been trained by Ms Lacassagne and are about to introduce this technique to their classmates to facilitate communication and minor conflicts between peers!
