On 8 April, Margot (Year 9) and Emma (Year 10) were among the students from French lycées around the world, from every continent, who came together as an orchestra for a magical evening: the Orchestre des lycées français du monde concert. They were chosen from among many others to join the choir, and were able to enjoy this unique experience in Brussels. The Easter holidays were devoted to rehearsals, as the students from the 42 countries had never played together before.
The concert, which lasted almost two hours, alternated between South African gospel, Bizet classics and original compositions, and ended with a standing ovation from the audience, who were amazed by the professionalism and talent of the 150 students selected.
Ms Lacassagne commented: "One word: grandiose! It was absolutely magnificent, and I was overcome with emotion several times. Professional, moving, a breath of optimism to see these 42 nationalities on stage in an uncertain geopolitical context. In short, the magic of music and international projects!
