As part of the Citizenship chapter (EMC) programme about Principles of Justice, 4èmes turned their class into a courtroom.
Pupils took part in two separate mock trials, playing the roles of judge, barrister, usher, clerk or witness to the defence or prosecution and defendant.
After deliberation, the jury announced the verdict!
Based on real events that captured media attention in the UK:
– a 1931 court case about a murder/identity theft.
– a court case about harassment (the first court case about harassment in the UK in 2009)
These court cases provided the opportunity for our pupils to acquire an in-depth understanding of the workings of a court in a fun and challenging way.
CFBL | Collège Français Bilingue de Londres aims in particular to deliver a bilingual and multicultural education to pupils and to prepare pupils for their entry into the upper secondary section of the French Lycée or help pupils transfer into the English education sytem.
