During their geography lesson on urban landscapes, Year 9 students visited different areas of London along the District Line.
From South Kensington to Dagenham, via Westminster, the City and Brick Lane, they were thus able to compare multiple parts of the city and reflect on the urban and social dynamics of London whilst learning the methods of observation in geography.
"Students were able to use both their own knowledge of the city in which they reside, as well as the various data collected during their trip to analyse different areas and go from observation to examination, explained their history-geography teacher. This enables them to think about the characteristics of historical areas, financial districts, and compare residential areas where different socio-professional categories are more or less represented, and to start thinking about gentrification."
