10 years of Radio Récré!

In November 2014, Collège Français Bilingue de Londres (CFBL) launched Radio Récré, a pioneering initiative entirely designed, produced and hosted by students. This bilingual radio station aims to develop students' public speaking skills and boost their self-confidence.

In its early days, Radio Récré was broadcast on a digital radio frequency (DAB) thanks to a collaboration with French Radio, a French-language programme in London created by Elisabeth O'Regan, a journalist and mother of a CFBL student. The programmes were pre-recorded and then broadcast live, accessible via a DAB radio or on the French Radio website.

In 2017, a new step was taken with the broadcasts being made available online on SoundCloud, making the content more accessible to a wider audience. The first show available on this platform dates back to September 2017. Subsequently, video recordings were introduced, and the shows began to be streamed on YouTube.

Over the years, Radio Récré has offered a variety of content, including special reports, interviews, games and songs, reflecting the diversity and creativity of the pupils. The programmes are available on SoundCloud, Youtube and the CFBL website.

In November 2024, Radio Récré celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of student involvement in the production of bilingual radio content. We look forward to continuing this radio adventure with you.
