On Thursday, March 6, 2025, CFBL will come alive with the World Book Day celebrations! This eagerly awaited event will feature a variety of exciting activities to inspire a love of reading among all our students. Here’s a preview of what’s planned:
📚 Meet the Author: Wren James
We are delighted to welcome Wren James, a well-known British author, who will meet with our secondary students.
This unique opportunity will allow them to:
Learn about the journey of a professional writer
Explore the secrets of creative writing
Discover the art of storytelling
The full schedule for this event will be shared soon.
📖 Cross-Class Reading Session
In a spirit of sharing and promoting reading, the Year 6 students will visit the CP classes for a special reading session.
This heartwarming activity will give older students the chance to guide and inspire younger ones by reading stories to them.
🎭 Costume Contest
Preschool and primary students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character on this special day.
For costume ideas, you can visit the official World Book Day website.
Exciting news: This year, secondary students are also invited to dress up! We hope many will join the fun and participate with enthusiasm.
📸 Bookface Contest in the Library
For a creative touch, Mme Percetti, our librarian, will host a Bookface Contest.
The challenge: blend your face or body into a book cover to create a fun and perfect illusion!
Expect amazing and creative results from this contest!
📚 Book Swap
Our libraries will organize the traditional Book Swap.
When to bring books?
From Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, March 5
Where to drop them off?
At the CDI for secondary students
At the BCD for primary students
How does it work?
For every book donated, your child will receive a ticket (kept at the BCD for primary students), which will allow them to choose a new book on the day of the swap.
On World Book Day – Thursday, March 6:
Book swap stands will be set up in the libraries throughout the day.
Students must present their ticket to take home a new book.
For students from PSM to CE1, please write the child’s name on the donated book.

📖 Match the Staff to Their Favourite Book – Competition
New this year, we’re launching a "Match the Staff to Their Favourite Book" competition!
How does it work?
Staff members are invited to share their favourite book, either the best book they’ve read this year or their all-time favourite.
Students will try to match each staff member to their book, earning house points for every correct guess.
Staff can participate too—those who correctly match the most books will win house points as well!
This is a great way to spark students’ curiosity and encourage them to read more. We invite staff to choose engaging, age-appropriate books for our students.
✨ Stay Tuned!
More information will follow in the coming weeks.
We can’t wait to see the whole school come together to celebrate books, imagination, and the joy of reading!
