Recently, our English teacher, Ms Watts, hosted engaging yoga sessions that brought creativity and learning together in unique ways. Year 2's first session, themed around Australia, allowed students to explore the continent's geography and wildlife while practicing yoga. Using fluffy toys and picture projections, participants were immersed in an imaginative experience that highlighted Australia’s diverse ecosystems.
In a delightful introduction to yoga, Year 8 enjoyed a sunny day in Hampstead, where they learned foundational poses and breathing techniques. The serene setting enhanced their connection to nature and provided a perfect backdrop for mindfulness and relaxation.
Meanwhile, Year 7 participated in a second yoga session focused on the theme of confidence. Through an interactive dice game, students not only learned the names of various yoga positions but also built their self-esteem as they practiced and supported one another.
These sessions not only fostered physical well-being but also encouraged teamwork and creativity among students. We look forward to more inspiring yoga experiences that promote health and learning in our school community!
