World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own.
It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
Thanks to National Book Tokens and lots of lovely book publishers and booksellers, World Book Day, in partnership with schools all over the country, will be distributing more than 15 million £1 World Book Day book tokens to children and young people.
At CFBL | Collège bilingue de Londres, Primary students came dressed up as their favourite book characters. They were also invited to bring £1 for Book Aid International.
Furthermore, on Thursday 19 March a book swap will be organised. Pupils will have to bring a book that they will be able to swap with their friends.
